Tug of War by Marc Colonques

The last activity that we did during Discovery Summer Olympics at Winchester was the tug of war. We had thirteen points and Winchester’s team had twelve points, so the winner of the whole day would be the winning team of the tag of war. I thought Winchester wasn’t so strong but they were; when my friends and I were told to go to the tug of war we grasped the rope very strongly and tightly because we knew that we could win the Olympics if we won we won this game, so we had another reason to take it serious.

At first they started pulling harder than we had expected, but then when we started to pull even harder than them. In fact, we were pulling so hard that the rope broke and all the people landed on the grass. Nobody won the tug of war so we won the whole competition and Gary was very happy because we brought the cup to Radley.
