Gaelic Sports Society

One of the societies on offer this weekend was the Gaelic Sports society.
It was a hugely popular club, and the students got to try out traditional Gaelic sports such as Gaelic football and hurling.

'Gaelic' refers to an ethnic group originating from Ireland, areas of Scotland and the Isle of Man.

In hurling, players use a wooden stick called a hurley to hit a small ball between the opponent's goalposts or over a crossbar. The ball can also be kicked, slapped, or caught and carried for no more than four steps.
